Part-time pre-school program for 3 & 4-year-olds

New Timings for 2010!!!
Please review the new days & times for our SWEEP classes.  These changes will be effective with the 2010-2011 school year that begins Tuesday, August 31, 2010.  Based on past feedback, we feel these may better accommodate the needs and desires of young families.

SWEEP 3's classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am-11:30am

SWEEP 4's classes meet Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 9:00am-2:30pm
                                                

The Small World Early Education Program or "SWEEP" as we call it, is a school-year based program (September through June) that is designed to provide three and four-year-old children with fun, enriching and developmentally appropriate skills and concept-building pre-school experiences. This is a comprehensive 10-month program that encourages higher level thinking skills for intellectual pursuit and fosters emotional, social, physical development while boosting a child's self-esteem.

S.W.E.E.P. Features:

• A part-time program designed to give children the opportunity to socialize with their peers in a more structured environment.
  
• Geared toward helping a child develop habits of observation, inquiry, listening, and an awareness of his/her feelings.
  
• Designed so children learn to make choices and gather meaning from the world as a basis for strong conceptual development.
  
• Program prepares children to utilize their intellectual and creative abilities in future learning tasks.
  
• Children participate in center-based activities that involve music, art, dramatic play, nature, cooking, etc. which enables children to develop at their own pace
  
• The SWEEP 3's curriculum includes American Sign Language and Music that are taught by specialists in these disciplines
  
• The SWEEP 4's curriculum includes Physical Education, Technology, American Sign Language and Music that are taught by specialists in these disciplines
  
• SWEEP 3's & 4's children are provided a nutritious and tasty snack during class
  
  
• Daily use of our well-planned, interesting and developmentally-appropriate playground for pre-school 3 & 4 year olds
  
• Appropriate schedules to accommodate children who are beginning to expand their time away from home
